It’s a little agricultural village that lies at the foot of Val Cervia, along the Orobie Route.
In the past, in Cedrasco and Fusine, the neighbouring village, there were some important iron mines, as shown on a document of 1378 where a blast furnace is mentioned. The village had belonged to the ancient parish of Berbenno until 1454.
The parish church of S. Agostino is very old, though the building dates back to the eighteenth century. Inside there are valuable paintings by Giovanni Pietro and Cesare Ligari, who belonged to the most famous artists family in Valtellina (XVIII c.).
