Lovero - 515 m s.l.m.
Today the village is prevalently an agricultural centre and it’s situated near the old planned route of the highway 38. Before arriving in Lovero, on the left side of the highway, you can see the artificial barrage of the Adda river that forms a little lake. There, a big hydroelectric power plant stands out. In ancient times the village belonged to the old parish of Mazzo until 1596. The five churches of Lovero are worth a visit: S. Maria delle Grazie that preserves a pulpit and a fine carved confessional by G. B. Del Piaz (XVIII c.), S. Alessandro with paintings by Cipriano Valorsa and Giovannino da Sondalo, S. Rocco (a private property - built in 1639 during the pestilence that raged in Valtellina), S. Maria Maddalena and S. Agostino, built in 1200 with a part that was used as a convent.
