One of the main traditions of Bormio
Another tradition of Bormio, the Palio is the healthy competition between the Districts of Bormio, the sections of town marked by a color and a symbol.During the Palio delle Contrade, each district seeks to recruit as many people as possible, a big spirit of participation.
Those who participate wearing vintage clothing, with the colors of their faction, or by using ancient wood skis, earn more points that at the end will determine the final placement.
The competition has ski races for Bocia (children) and Granc (adults)
Route: Via de Simoni, Via del Ginnasio, Via Roma, Piazza Cavour
at 18:30: meeting at Piazza Cavour/Kuerc
at 18:45: start of the cross country race for “Bocia” (children) - following: relay of the children
at 20:00: start of the cross country race for “Granc” (adults) - following: relay of the districts
Music and entertainment, mulled wine, hot chocolate, spit-roasted chicken with chips and sweets at Piazza Cavour/Kuerc
