Teglio, renowned as the food capital of Valtellina and home of pizzoccheri, a traditional vegetarian dish made with buckwheat tagliatelle, is holding a series of gastronomic weekends staring pizzoccheri and other Valtellina delicacies revisited by local restaurants.

The Mushrooms: on October 5/6, 12/13 and 19/20
Wild Game: on October 26/27 and on November 2/3 and 9/10
The Autumn Tastes: on November 16/17, 23/24 and on November 30 and on December 1

Pizzocchero d'oro

€ 33.00 per person, menu includes:     

  • Selection of Bresaolas;
  • artisanal aged salamis and lard;
  • rye savouries with juniper butter;
  • sciatt (deep-fried cheese balls) with chicory;
  • pizzoccheri dell'Accademia di Teglio (buckwheat pasta);
  • Melavì Valtellina apple sorbet;
  • venison medallions with forest flavours
  • Valtellina polenta with buckwheat;
  • buckwheat cake with blueberry coulis;
  • coffee;
  • Schenatti grappa and liqueurs;
  • Bettini
  • Valtellina Superiore DOCG Valgella 2015 (1/3 bottle per person)

Alternative Menù dell'Accademia, € 28.00 per person, with shaved Valtellina bresaola, sciatt with chicory, pizzoccheri dell'Accademia di Teglio, selection of local cheese with seasonal accompaniments, chef’s dessert, coffee, Valtellina Superiore DOC (1/3 bottle per person).

All sorts of events will run alongside the food and wine festival, including tours, special openings of Palazzo Besta and the Medieval Deli Beli Miri tower, markets, kids' entertainment and more!
