Palazzo Merizzi

Dating back to the end of the XVII century, the current Palazzo Merizzi is formed of two 16th-century residences and a Medieval tower. The inner courtyard is this palazzo’s gem, with loggia and stylish stucco works framing the windows that enthral visitors. Inside, the suites of this former residence of the Archbishop Giacomo Merizzi (1881–1916), a benefactor of Tirano, are steeped in the same elegance.

Thanks to the generosity of the Merizzi family, who collaborate with the town authorities, the palazzo regularly enraptures audiences with live concerts, exhibitions and shows within the courtyard. In fact, it has become one of the most visited and photographed sites in Tirano’s old town.

Guided visits run throughout the summer.
