From July 8th to 15th the team led by Ivan Basso is in Valtellina for its training camp
Kometa Cycling Team, the youth cycling
team of Alberto Contador and Ivan Basso, will be in Bormio for its training
camp from July
8th to 15th.
During the week, the athletes will challenge some of the most important Alpine passes of Valtellina that make our region the ideal destination for road cycling. In addition of training, the Kometa Cycling Team will enjoy many other activities, such as cellar door tastings, moments of pure wellness and relaxation at the thermal baths, the Bernina Express line (part of the UNESCO World Heritage list) and many others.
Furthermore, on Sunday, July 14th, one of the main events on the Stelvio Pass: the Mapei Day, during which the cyclists will have the possibility to climb the famous Stelvio Pass (the road will be closed to traffic). An event not to be missed which will permit both to cyclists and runners to enjoy this epic road!
The Valtellina logo will feature on the team’s jerseys for the entire 2019 season.
Valtellina, together with "Kometa", a pork and cured meats plantbased in Hungary and owned by the Pedranzini family from Bormio, support the Kometa Cycling Team with the aim to select new champions and teach important values such as honesty, sacrifice and team work to young people, taking care of their education and sports training.
Kometa Cycling Team will take part to the Contador Day, on September 1st, an event open to everyone with the climb of the Gavia Pass together with Alberto Contador.
