The Grande Presepe della Val Tartano nativity has been running since 2002. In the picturesque town of Tartano, on the southern slopes of the Valtellina valley, the historic group of volunteers is preparing the nativity scene that has become renowned across the region. The hour-long tour winds through the paths of the idyllic pecceta woods and ancient hamlets, and features scenes of daily life from times past. The night tours of the illuminated nativity scenes are both magical and mystical – and quite unforgettable. At the end of the tour, visitors are invited to enjoy a steaming cup of tea or mulled wine.
Day tours: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Night tours on 28 December, 1 and 4 January:
8.30 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Moonboots, après-ski wear, and gloves are recommended.
A headlamp is strongly recommended for night tours.
