Olympism embodies the values of brotherhood among peoples, hope, friendship, and team spirit, alongside those of Paralympism, which aim to break down physical and social barriers for an increasingly inclusive society. The Olympic flame, departing from Greece on November 26, 2025, bound for Rome, will cross Italy with 60 stage celebrations taking place in 60 cities across all 20 regions. The journey spans Italy's 110 provinces, involving 10,001 torchbearers for 63 days along a route of over 12,000 km. From Rome, after stops in Tuscany and the major islands at the end of 2025, the route of the Flame will pass through Northern Italy in early 2026, arriving in Valtellina, specifically in Livigno, on January 30th, passing through Bormio on January 31st, and finally arriving in Sondrio the same day.

The torchbearers will depart from the schools in Cepina (Via Roma), then pass through the historic center of Bormio and conclude their journey near the cable cars.

The Olympic flame's journey concludes on February 6th with the entrance to the San Siro Stadium in Milan, the opening day of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
