One of the unmissable events for mountain running enthusiasts is back: Mela Vertical, a mountain running race in Villa di Tirano, with a total elevation gain of 1,000 meters and a distance of 3.4 km.
The race, included in the national FISKY calendar, is the third stage of the national "Crazy Vertical Italy Cup 2025" circuit.
The route follows the old Peita-Sasso mule track: starting from the terraced vineyards, it soon reaches broadleaf forests dominated by centuries-old chestnut trees.
You'll encounter the ruins of the ancient Contrade (districts) once permanently inhabited, and steadily advance to the Stavello mountain pasture, where a wide grassy slope dominates the valley floor.
The final efforts lead to the Sasso clearing, where the broadleaf forest gradually gives way to a conifer forest.
Maximum number of participants: 200
