On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, on the occasion of the 17th stage of the Giro d'Italia, Valtellina will be among the great protagonists of the Corsa Rosa with the arrival of the stage in Bormio.
The stage will start from San Michele all'Adige, in the province of Trento to first tackle the Passo del Tonale, then the Passo del Mortirolo with its 13 kilometers of average gradient at 7.6%, and then the descent towards Grosio. Even the last kilometers towards Bormio will not be at all predictable, guaranteeing a tiring and spectacular race with the Motte climb a few kilometers from the end.
On Thursday, May 29, the Giro d'Italia will restart with the 18th stage from Morbegno, towards Cesano Maderno.

On May 28, 2025, the Giro-E stage from Tirano will also end in Bormio.
On Monday, July 7, 2025, it will be the turn of the Giro Women with the 2nd stage (99 km) arriving in Aprica from Clusone (BG).
Passing through Lovere and Costa Volpino, you cross the entire Val Camonica up to Edolo and then climb towards Aprica from the old road to Corteno Golgi.
