DIRECTIONS: the Church of the Addolorata is located outside of the town of Livigno, in Val Federia. It can be reached by taking Via Rasia northeast towards the reservoir and the “Munt La Schera” Tunnel and then turning left to enter Val Federia. After travelling a couple of kilometres along a narrow road flanked by meadows and chalets, the church appears, standing on top of a small hill.

DESCRIPTION:
The Church of the Addolorata is perhaps the most beautiful of Livigno’s filial churches. It is an exact reconstruction of the original, which was located a little further downhill but in precarious conditions. The church consists of a nave, an apse and a tiny sacristy. An octagonal bell tower with two orders of windows, two bells and a recurrent onion dome stands behind the sacristy. The walls are adorned with small scenes of the Stations of the Cross – eighteenth-century prints with Latin inscriptions. There are also a few ex-votos that are very characteristic since they depict the local landscapes and customs. The most beautiful one, which dates from 1868, depicts a family from Livigno dressed in traditional clothing and kneeling at the feet of the Pietà. The new church was consecrated in 1984.
