DESCRIPTION:
The church currently features distinctive paintings in the chancel, produced in 1954 using the encaustic technique (ancient technique using colours dissolved in wax, which are reheated to paint). The second altar to the left still has sixteenth century sculptures of Our Lady and the Saints of the Water, which are usually covered with cloths and shown only on special occasions.
INTERESTING FACT:
Our Lady of the Water was called on by residents when drought threatened the crops.
