DIRECTIONS: the church is located in the hamlet of Aurogo in the municipality of Piuro, approximately 3 km from Chiavenna in the direction of Sankt Moritz.
DESCRIPTION:
The Church of San Martino di Aurogo dates back to the eleventh century and is the oldest existing church in Valchiavenna. Although it has undergone renovations, the church still has Romanesque walls and coeval interior frescoes, which are among the oldest in the entire Province of Sondrio. The frescoes depict the Healing of the Blind Man, the Resurrection of Lazarus and the Entry of Christ into Jerusalem.
