The dominant Castel Masegra, in a panoramic position over the city, houses the CAST, the CAstle of mountain STories.
The museum, like the Alpine town of Sondrio, is linked to the mountains and aims to tell the local history, allowing the public to approach it through a modern and experiential narration. You will find Alpine culture and technology, in an interesting combination. The aim is to provide a first approach to the world of the mountains, to then facilitate the real discovery and exploration of the territory.
The main themes developed in the museum are enclosed in three sections: Climbing, Mountaineering and Environment. The museum is aimed at a wide audience, for this reason the themes are treated in a multimedia way and with technological supports such as videos, touch screens and installations that have the ability to involve and intrigue even the youngest. The museum route is divided into three levels and it is possible to make the visit in a personalized way, choosing how to go around the rooms.
