The Osservatorio Eco
Faunistico Alpino observatory is located within the Parco delle Orobie in
Aprica. This pristine Alpine area spans 25 hectares and is crossed by an educational nature trail
so that visitors of all ages can observe and learn about a wide range of plant
and animal species.
Of these, various hoofed animals such as chamois, ibex and roe deer, along with
diurnal and nocturnal birds of prey and the capercaillie,
which is the symbol of the Parco delle Orobie Valtellinesi.
The Osservatorio can only
be accessed as part of a guided tour, which can be booked at the
Ufficio Turistico (Tourist Information Centre) in Aprica.
