It is usually extremely difficult to get close to marmots as they
live on Alpine pastures 2,000-3,000 m above sea level. However, in Chiareggio,
it is not unusual to see them up close.
The Park of Marmots is located at the entrance to this picturesque
Valmalenco village. Here, the giant rodents, which are one of the symbols of
these mountains, lounge about in the fields and approach people without any
problem.
