The trail to the Bonacossa Mountain Hut begins in San Martino and crosses the Mello Valley, immersing you in a timeless setting. Begin climbing along the Zocca Valley, walking next to a swift stream with numerous falls. The trail passes through alternating woods and pastureland, with granite peaks looming above. You can also take an alternate trail through a side valley, the Alpe Qualido Valley. This route enchants visitors with surprising discoveries and extraordinary features. Built by the rural population, the trail has long stone steps that offer hikers an unparalleled experience. The Zocca Valley is the most “alpine” valley of the Masino area, with impressive towers, edges and walls of every type. The comfortable, new Bonacossa Mountain Hut is located in the centre of a stunning natural amphitheatre at an altitude of 2,388 m.
