With its fairs and markets in village piazzas, fireworks displays and more, Valtellina is the perfect place for ringing in the New Year in the Alps. You’ll find information about all the major events happening around the valley below.
In Livigno the ski instructors are
celebrating New Year’s Eve with their traditional
torchlight descent, which is accompanied by mulled wine and followed by a
celebration dinner in the restaurants of the ski resort.
In Bormio, the Ski Stadium at the bottom of the Stelvio run is holding
a New Year’s Eve party featuring a torchlight descent by the ski instructors
followed by music, mulled wine and hot tea.
Other valleys around Bormio are
also hosting New Year’s events. In Valdidentro there will be a fireworks
display, and canapés, mulled wine and hot tea will be served.
In Aprica, on December 31st, the local ski instructors will begin a spectacular torchlight
descent at 6.30 p.m. following by a fireworks display
Don’t miss the torchlight descent at Alpe Motta on 30 December by the ski instructors and students of the Alpe Motta Ski School at 6 p.m.
Furthermore, on December 31st, another unmissable torchlight parade with the ski instructors of the Madesimo Ski School, following by music and entertainment!
