The Consorzio dei Vini di Valtellina has teamed up with the Strada del
Vino (the Valtellina Wine Road) to curate a series of events that acquaint
visitors and locals alike with Valtellina’s unique wine scene. Known for its
steep terrain and Alpine scenery, Valtellina has long created delectable wines
that champion the alpine Nebbiolo grape, grown on its iconic terraced
mountainsides built with UNESCO-listed dry-stone walls.
Here’s the schedule for the Valtellina Wine Festival 2024:
11 May and 5 October
Valtellina Wine Trekking
Explore on foot: Join experienced mountain guides and established local wine
producers for curated hikes that weave through the grape vines on the Strada
del Vino. Expect vineyards, charming villages perched on the mountainside, and
picture-book landscapes. After each trek, enjoy a wine tasting and local
delicacies.
25 June
Mangiar per Vigne / Dine among the Vines
Tuck into ravishing local dishes with a satisfying glass of alpine Nebbiolo as
the sun sets across the terraced vineyards.
4 August, Sondrio
Calici d’Autore / Artisan Wine Tasting
