With a series of routes suitable for all-terrain wheelchairs with a single wheel, Valtellina@ccessibile unlocks the landscape for people with a disability. The reason: heading into the hills is a great way to improve quality of life so everyone should be able to enjoy it.
Select trails in Valtellina are now marked on the map with the words “accessibili a tutti” – accessible for everyone.
A joëlette requires at least two volunteer guides.
A joëlette is a single-wheel wheelchair designed to navigate across rugged terrain (although not suited to the steepest or gnarliest ground), which allows individuals with a disability, whatever their age, to hike in the mountains with assistance.
The Valtellina@ccessibile project provides free hire of mountain equipment, including joëlettes and other access-improving items, so that everyone can enjoy a selection of trails marked “accessibili a tutti” (accessible to everyone).
You must reserve your joëlette and other equipment at least 10 days prior to your excursion.
To do so, email consulenza@dappertutto.org

Across the province of Sondrio, there are a number of accessible hiking routes that have been curated for joëlette suitability by the Dappertutto association.
