On the western edge of the Costiera dei Cèch and looking out over Alto Lario, the Orobic Alps and
Valchiavenna, the round-shaped Monte Bassetta (1746 m) boasts spectacular views
in every direction to make you go weak at the knees.
Reachable in 2 hours 30 minutes from La Piazza (Cino), Monte Bassetta makes for
a great day-hike. Begin on the access road through the woods to Prati dell’O
before turning left onto the trail for Monte Foffricio (1258 m). You’ll climb
gently through the trees before the final stunning ridge that takes you to the
summit of Monte Bassetta.
*You need to obtain a permit in Cino to drive along the local road to La
Piazza.
