This route winds through Valle del Bitto di Albaredo. Fitter cyclists can of course set off from Morbegno, but they must take into account the 1600 metres overall difference in altitude and some steep stretches along the way with a gradient of more than 15%. It may therefore present a problem for the battery due to using medium/high pedal assist. The first part is on tarmac through Passo San Marco. After three hairpins, a left turn sees the road start to rise more steeply. You will come to the big car park almost immediately. This marks the beginning of the rough track, off limits to cars without permits: this is fairly loose terrain with some more difficult parts. You can pedal right up to the mountain refuge as the last part has been turned into a rough track.
