Thanks
to its prime location and climate, Livigno’s ski season usually runs from late
November right through until early May. With modern, fast ski lifts and cable
cars, more than 115 km of superlatively groomed pistes and downhill runs to
suit all skier types, Livigno has become one of the most important ski resorts
not just in Italy, but in Europe.
Snowboarding
fans make a beeline here for one main reason: Mottolino. Nationally and
internationally applauded, it is considered one of the best snowparks in Europe,
often hosting major championships, photoshoots for the industry’s biggest
publications, and winter sports events like nowhere else on earth, such as the
now iconic River Jump. Carosello 3000 is
home to Livigno’s second snowpark, The Beach, which riffs off a tropical vibe.
Livigno
has earned a reputation as the Queen of Freeride thanks to its vast backcountry
offerings with pristine valleys and undisturbed snow.
