Palazzo Besta, a 16th-century noble residence, exudes the atmosphere of an era driven by the pursuit of beauty and the love of life. The heart of the palace is the magnificent internal courtyard, framed by a loggia with graceful columns and light vaults, contrasting with the frescoed walls depicting scenes from the Aeneid and the polychrome medallions of the owners.
On the main floor, visit the Hall of Honor, decorated with scenes from Orlando Furioso, the dining room with its splendid umbrella ceiling, and the Creation Room. The ground-floor rooms house the Tellinum Antiquarium, which collects testimonies to the civilization and art of the Valtellina, including the three "Caven" stones, including the Mother Goddess or Fertility Goddess.
Palazzo Besta is a state-owned museum, entrusted to the Superintendence for Architectural and Landscape Heritage of the Lombardy region.
