Snowshoeing in Teglio

Prato Valentino for two short walks that are big on views: The Verdomana and the Dosso Laù loops

Known for being utterly charming and the home of Valtellina’s dish of pizzoccheri, Teglio is also remarkably generous with its winter sports offerings – especially if you’re into snowshoeing. Its small ski resort of Prato Valentino, which is great fun for all the family, also has two short, easily accessible snowshoe hikes that are ideal for beginners and mixed fitness groups, zigzagging across the mountainside through spruce trees, larch trees, and beautiful clearings.

One route climbs up to Dosso Laù, providing stunning views over the Adamello Mountain Range and the Orobic Alps, while the second, even easier route traverses the patchwork of woodland in Prato Valentino, weaving around the cluster of mountain cabins in Verdomana.
