Bormio

Bormio, also known as the Magnificent Land, is a elegant town (1.225 metres above sea level), that was already known to the ancient Romans, who enjoyed soaking and relaxing in the beneficial spa waters in the nearby valleys. Surrounded by uncontamined nature, Bormio has a beautiful old town centre, its churches, towers and noble residences are testament to the pomp and splendour of the former noble county.

Its links with ancient traditions are still strong thanks to the folkloristic events that the people of Bormio organise every year: the Pasquali and the Carneval di Mat.
