This route is on the Orobic slope above Cosio Valtellino, and the first part is on the provincial “Valgerola” road. After the first hairpin (600 metres) turn right again on tarmac through lovely woods with climbs of over 10%. You will come to a car park in the lower part of Alpe Tagliata on a compact rough track. Just above this is the right-hand fork for Erdona. Straight on, a short detour brings you to the small “Bagno dell’Orso” lake. From here, you could pedal to the Alpe Tagliata cheese factory or casera, but this rough track is very steep with lots of loose stones. The suggested route continues along a rough track, goes through Masonaccia and then right, down along the scenic ridge of Erdona. A steep drop to the left takes you to the Andalo plain, but this entails a lengthy ride along a busy state road.
