Val Belviso is long and deep and the upper valley is dominated by Monte Torena, reflected in the huge artificial lake in the valley bottom. You start in Aprica and cycle down to Ponte di Ganda. The uphill part starts here and continues to just below the Val Belviso dam (picnic area). Alternating tarmac and rough track, this road has some 15% climbs, as do the hairpin bends that take you up the side of the dam. The next stretch of flat rough track offers wonderful view of the lake surrounded by pine woods. Steep hairpins then take you up and left from the bottom, to the large terrace at Radici di Campo. The road to Malga Campo has constant gradients of over 20% and is all large, loose stones and holes, making it difficult to pedal for untrained bikers without technical expertise. Careful on the way back with an uphill stretch to Aprica!
