OPEN MOUNTAIN PASSES:
- APRICA: open 24 hours a day
- BERNINA: open 24 hours a day
- FORCOLA: open 24 hours a day
- FOSCAGNO: open 24 hours a day 
- GAVIA: open 24 hours a day - The Gavia Pass will be closed from 30th August to 3rd September 
                                                from 8 to 12 a.m. and from 1.0 0 to 5.30 p.m.
- MALOJA: open 24 hours a day
- MORTIROLO: open 24 hours a day 
- SAN MARCO: open 24 hours a day
- SPLUGA: open 24 hours a day
- STELVIO: open 24 hours a day
- S. MARIA/UMBRAIL: open 24 hours a day
- GALLO PASS/TUNNEL MUNT LA SCHERA: Open all year round, toll is required
- NEWS: from 1st January 2010 the Tunnel Munt La Schera is open 24h a day at alternate traffic.

New bus line TIRANO - APRICA - EDOLO
From 1st July 2009 a new bus line that connetcs directly Tirano to Edolo in the Province of Brescia, passing through Aprica, will be available. The buses departures and arrivals are connected to the "Red Bernina Train" and the railway line Brescia-Iseo-Edolo: summer 2010 TIMETABLE

BY AIRPLANE
Valtellina is reachable from the main airports in Lombardy. Connections by bus from the airport to Milan Central Station and by train from Milan Central Station to Valtellina:

Bergamo - Orio al Serio (115 km from Sondrio)

Aerotaxi
Twice a week, on Wenesday and on Thursday, an aerotaxi service connects directly Caiolo airport (4 Km. from Sondrio) to Ciampino Airport in Rome, and, on request, to other localities.

During the winter season, Valtellina offers an important service to the tourists: the bus connection from the airports of Milano Malpensa and Bergamo Orio al Serio with frequent runs.
